So, we’ve been a bit slack with writing a blog. It’s been a big few months, but the great news is WE ARE OPEN!!!!! January 6th was our first day, and now we’re so blessed to be caring for some gorgeous children already. Tomorrow is WORLD READ ALOUD DAY, which we are very excited about, because we LOVE reading! We’re going to bring our favourite books to kindy to read aloud together. My favourites are either anything Hairy Maclary or The Wonky Donkey….. because I love rhyming stories. Why read aloud? Reading aloud:

• Develops stronger vocabulary. …
• Builds connections between the spoken and written word. …
• Provides enjoyment. …
• Increases attention span. …
• Strengthens cognition. …
• Provides a safe way of exploring strong emotions. …
• Promotes bonding.

Make some time to read aloud to your little ones soon…..maybe even tomorrow on WORLD READ ALOUD DAY.
